Vehicle Routing and Its Rich Variants

Çağrı Koç, Department of Business Administration, Social Sciences University of Ankara

Abstract

The Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) calls for the determination of the optimal set of routes to be performed by a fleet of vehicles to serve a given set of customers. It is one of the most important and studied combinatorial optimization problems. Hundreds of models and algorithms have been proposed for the optimal and approximate solutions of different versions of the VRP. This seminar will illustrate the presenter's primary scientific research interests across VRP and its rich variants in the last decade. These topics include heterogeneous fleets, location-routing, green transportation, electric vehicles, home health care routing, integrated disassembly line balancing and routing, and reviews. This talk will provide an overview on the solution methods that have been successfully applied to these diverse VRP variants, spanning a range from exact methods to metaheuristics. These algorithms encompass hybrid evolutionary algorithms, adaptive large neighborhood search and matheuristics. The talk will summarize several interesting promising future research perspectives.
