Short Bio:
M. Hakan Akyüz received his Ph.D. degree in Industrial Engineering from Boğaziçi University. He worked as a post-doctoral fellow at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology between 2012-2013. He joined the Department of Industrial Engineering at Galatasaray University in 2014 as an Assistant Professor and became an Associate Professor in 2018. He was a visiting faculty at OPAC group at Eindhoven University of Technology for a period between 2019-2020. He then joined the Econometrics Department at Erasmus School of Economics for five years. He has been a faculty member in the Industrial Engineering Department of METU since 2025. His research interest spans logistics, algorithms and machine learning. He aims to integrate optimization and machine learning techniques in decision making.
Dr. Akyüz is the recipient of the BAP PhD Thesis Award from the Institute for Graduate Studies in Science and Engineering at Boğaziçi University in 2012.
